Our Crocus Garden

25/10/2017

Today we planted crocuses to commemorate the death of 1.5 Million children during the holocaust of World War Two. During this war Hitler was in reign of Germany and the Nazi’s captured the Jewish people and sent them to work camps where they were forced to wear a Star of David on their clothing.

Sixth class got the inspiration for this project from reading our class novel ‘The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas’ by John Boyne. This book had on its cover the Star of David on a boy’s pyjamas.

We planted the flowers in the shape of the Star of David as a symbol of the lives that were lost during this sad time.

Keep watching for updates on the growth of our beautiful Crocuses and our further learning on World War Two.
