Third class are back with an update on their Bee Aware Project. They've been pulling grasses and watering the plot through the winter and are now starting to see the rewards for all their hard work. They managed to find a few little buds just beginning to grow and with the help of Jeanne identified a few - red clover, yarrow, dandelions, birds foot trefoil and more.... Fingers crossed we'll see a lot more from them over the next few months.
The Green Schools Committee had a very difficult job to do this week. The committee agreed that our school should enter this years Green Schools Global Goals Competition with the theme being Goal 6: Water and Sanitation. They had to choose ten posters from a huge number of amazing entries. The following are the ten successful posters which have now been submitted to the national competition. Well done to all who entered and blew us away with their artistic talent. Best of luck to our successful artists:
Nataniel & Adam from second class, Daragh & Dumebi from third class, Matthew, Daniel, Nathan & Joshua from fourth class, Leo H and Harris from fifth class and Jordan from 6th class.
Let's hope you're as successful in the national competition!
Well done to the Winners!
St. Michael's was one of Ireland's First Green Schools. We are continuing this tradition and have just been awarded our 9th Green Flag. This one related to Biodiversity.
