We were delighted to have received the Green Flag for Global Citizenship Litter and Waste in May which was presented to committee members Billy Regan and Destiny Ajiboie in the Galway Bay Hotel. We have now commenced a new Green Flag Programme and will be focusing on Biodiversity. We are so excited about this programme and would love to hear from you with ideas....
THE AIM OF THE PROGRAMME IS To increase awareness of the importance of native plants, animals and habitats, and to increase species-richness in a locality.Our ideas so far include creating a nature trail, a bug hotel, creating a school trees database with leaf recognition programmes, to increase our Bee Aware meadow, to create an edible garden and to plant more native plants and trees including blackthorns, snowdrops, bluebells, crocuses and more... |
