This week we have gone #plasticfreeforaweek in St. Michael's - and even the teachers had to bring their own mugs instead of using disposable cups when buying their coffee in the morning! The committee have been monitoring plastic use all week and reminding fellow students, parents and teachers to get involved.
Well done to ALL who entered the Plastic Free Week Art Competition. The Green Schools Committee were blown away by the effort that went into all the posters. It made the job of picking just one winner very difficult. But after much deliberation the winners were Darragh Finnerty (1st place) and Daniel Ofili (2nd Place). Huge congrats and well deserved to both of them.
As many of you will know St. Michael's has converted from using disposable water bottles to long lasting water bottles. We will save approximately 24,300 water bottles this year and every year with this one initiative. #plasticfreegalway @galwaygreenleaf
